Ans. Sultan Mahmud of Ghazni was a ruler of Afghanistan from 997 CE to 1030 CE. he is known as first independent king of Ghazni he belonged to the sunni sect of muslims. He extend his control over the part of Central asia, Iran and the northwest part of the subcontinent. He invasion in Peshawar and Punjab 17th times between 1000 and 1027. Mostly he target the ruler of hindusahi wealthy temples cities like Somnath, Mathura, Kanauj, Thaneshwar. somnath is the worst victim of his raids in gujarat. the birthplace of ghazni is zabulastin in afghanistan and his mother belonged from the iranian family. after the death of his father the throne was occupied by his brother islami. Mahmud revolt against him and won the battle of ghazni and thus occupied the throne. the famous book of Al-beruni is kitab-ul-hind is a major sources the emperor of mahmud ghazni this book included the knowledge of wealth, prosperity, and the geography of india.

Ans. The chola empire was arose in 19th century. They also developed their powerful navy for conquer on sri lanka and maldives too. this empire actually changed the political scenario of south India. the impact of their rise was the felt of countries of southeast asia. Chola belonged to a minor chiefly family known as Mutharaiyar that held power in the kaveri delta. They worked as partner to the pallavas kings of kanchipuram. during 400 year the empire of chola were extend over the large area of the south india and the modern state of tamil nadu southern karnataka and southern Andhra. the town of thanjavur and the temple for goddess Nishmabhasudini are some of his great creation. 

Rajaraja I was the most famous and powerful Chola ruler who became king in 985 and therafter expanded contral over the most of these areas. His Rajendar I also added to the glory of his father. the successor of vijayalaya conquered their neighbouring regions and grow the kingdom in size and power. the pallava territories in north and the pandyan in south india were made the part of this kingdom.
